Frequently Asked
Straight answers.
Nothing fancy. Just the questions we get most often.
- Is this an official government site?
- No. GoConcealedCarry is a privately owned informational and advertising website. We are not affiliated with any state, local, or federal government agency.
- Do you issue concealed carry permits?
- No. Concealed carry permits are issued exclusively by state and local authorities. We help you understand whether you meet baseline eligibility requirements and connect you with an advertising partner for training and application preparation.
- Is my information shared?
- Your quiz answers are stored in your browser for the duration of your visit and are used to personalize your results. If you click through to Rush Permit, non-sensitive parameters (state, ZIP, age bracket, citizenship, training status) are appended to the outbound URL for tracking. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- Why do you ask about criminal history?
- Federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)) prohibits firearm possession following certain convictions, including felonies and misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence. We ask so we can give you an honest result rather than routing you to an application you cannot complete.
- What does Rush Permit provide?
- Rush Permit is our advertising partner. They offer online firearms training and assistance completing your state's concealed carry permit application. They do not issue permits — only your state can do that.
- Is online training valid in my state?
- It depends on the state. Some states accept online training courses; others require in-person or live-fire components. Rush Permit will tell you what applies in your state before you pay for anything.
